While canoeing and kayaking often get lumped in together, there are different paddles, boats and types of stroke used for each. Kayaks have a paddle with two blades; canoeing has a paddle with a single blade. There are less canoeing resources available online than kayak paddling resources, so we recommend when you start out to get instruction from a professional.
